Little Mix ‘Confetti’ Album Review: Their best yet?!
Little Mix just dropped their latest album, ‘Confetti’ and it is everything we wanted and more!
Let’s start by saying that this is their real empowerment album. LM5 is commonly known as their empowerment album although I think this one does it for me just a little bit more. This album is all about self-love, self-compassion, joy and loving life. Every song on this album gives me a confetti bomb of good vibes, not to mention that Sweet Melody has now become my favourite song of all time (plus one of my favourite music videos of all time).
My Top Tracks:
- Sweet Melody – Not only is this one of my favourite songs of all time but it’s my favourite music video of all time. This track represents Little Mix at their best. Sweet Melody is a power track that will never go out of style.
- Happiness – self-love, self-love, self-love! This song makes me feel all the warm and fuzzy feelings while I’m dancing around my living room with a huge smile painted across my face.
- Confetti – This song makes me want to go to a nightclub in a sparkly LBD and own the night (and I’ve never had the desire to go to a nightclub before).
- Gloves Up – A song to pump you up in the gym, a song to know your own power and a song to make you never give up.
- Break Up Song – 80s vibes across most of the album are giving me LIFE.
Describe the album in one word: SPARKLY!
Overall Rating: 9.9/10 (my only criticism is that I wish it was longer! Crossing my fingers for a deluxe or platinum edition)
Best Single: Sweet Melody
Best Non-Single: If You Want My Love (it gives me a mix of Cheetah Girl and NSYNC vibes!)
Favourite Thing About This Album? Even though it may be exactly what you expect from them, it sounds fresh. It sounds free. It just has a different vibe about it. It’s like how Taylor Swift’s Lover had a very different vibe to Reputation.
Most Beautiful Ballad: My Love Won’t Let You Down (although it is a shame that we don’t have more ballads on this album. Some of their best songs are ballads where their voices are left to shine – but I forgive them because this one is just as beautiful as Secret Love Song).
Appropriate for Kids? I would say this is their most appropriate/PG-13 album since Salute (only songs to be careful of based on the themes are Holiday and Rendezvous – that being said, I don’t think kids would really understand what the songs are about).
The overarching theme of this album is that when you gain self-love, you step into your power. And that’s what this album is, it’s powerful. Truely their best yet. I pray to the music angels that they tour in Australia soon (the genius of this album has made me officially forgive them for cancelling on us last time). This album would be OUT OF THIS WORLD live.
Hats off to you, Little Mix. Hats off to you.
